How it works
Built for the counter, not the office.
Seasonal businesses on the water run on teenagers, short weeks and long weekends. Shore Shift is the one sheet that has to be right before it goes on the wall.
- 1. Start a board
- One click makes a private link. Keep it; it is the only key. No account, no email.
- 2. Add your crew
- A first name or initials and an age group for each person: 14 or 15; 16 or 17 and in school; 16 or 17 and not required to attend school; 18 or older. A pay rate is optional and only used for the week's pay estimate.
- 3. Lay out the week
- Add shifts in quarter hours with any break. Mark the school days and, once, your school's hours. Add how many people you need for each part of the day.
- 4. Read the check
- Each shift of every person under 18 is checked against Ohio R.C. 4109.07 and federal 29 CFR 570.35 (quoted here). Problems show on the person's row and in a list with the citation. Short-handed hours show on the coverage chart.
- 5. Post it
- Print the wall sheet. If a problem is still open it is printed at the bottom, so nobody posts it by mistake.
Made with care, on purpose small
Shore Shift has no app to install and no tracking cookies. Its public pages, this one included, show one banner ad from adengine.us, WeldonPC's own small ad network (see Privacy); that is the only outside service the site uses. It does not send email or texts. Every schedule and check is worked out on our server from what you typed, the same way every time.
Not legal advice. Shore Shift checks the hours rules it quotes. Work permits, jobs minors may not do, pay and overtime are outside it, and which rules bind your business is yours to confirm.
